Candy Cane  Cookie Dough Bars

These no-bake Candy Cane Cookie Dough Bars are packed with peppermint flavor and make for a fun holiday party sweet treat!

Makes:  36 small bars Prep Time: 25 mins Chill Time: 1 hour, 15 mins

 Cookie Dough Ingredients:

– Unsalted butter – Granulated sugar – Vanilla extract – Peppermint extract – Salt – Crushed candy canes – All-purpose flour – Whole milk – Sprinkles

Cookie Crust & Frosting Ingredients:

Cookie Crust: – Oreo Cookies – Melted unsalted butter

Buttercream Frosting:  – Unsalted butter – Confectioners' sugar – Peppermint extract – Vanilla extract – Salt

Place Oreo cookies in food processor or blender.

Blend until they turn into fine crumbs. Pour in melted butter & pulse until blended.

Line 8x8 pan with foil coated with oil. Pour cookie crumbs in & press into even layer. Place in freezer.

In the bowl of mixer or in a large bowl with hand mixer, cream butter & sugar on until light & fluffy.

Add vanilla, peppermint extract, & salt and blend until combined. Mix in about ⅓ cup of crushed candy canes.

Slowly add flour to bowl until combined. Keep mixer on low & add milk to combine until dough comes together.

Beat together butter & confectioners' sugar. – Mix in peppermint extract, vanilla extract, & salt.

Spread frosting over top of cookie dough & smooth. Sprinkle on crushed candy canes & add more sprinkles.

Assemble Bars

Chill in fridge for 45+ mins. Remove bars from pan by lifting foil. Using sharp knife, slice into squares.
