Chocolatey, nutty, & sweet, the Starbucks Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew is the perfect combination. This copycat recipe makes it easy to make at home!

What's in a Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew?

The Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew was launched at Starbucks in February 2024, but uses all ingredients they've previously stocked. It contains cold brew with hazelnut syrup & is topped with chocolate cold foam & chocolate cookie crumbs. When you make it at home, you can customize it however you want. I also make my own hazelnut syrup (recipe provided), but you can use store-bought if you prefer.

Drink Ingredients:

– Cold Brew – Ice – Hazelnut syrup (homemade or store-bought) – Chocolate Cream Cold Foam (recipe provided) – Chocolate cookies (like Oreo), crushed

Hazelnut Syrup Ingredients:

– Water – Granulated sugar – Roughly chopped roasted hazelnuts (can substitute with hazelnut extract)

Chocolate Cold Foam Ingredients:

– 2% milk – Heavy cream – Vanilla syrup (store-bought or homemade) – Chocolate malt powder

Put water, sugar, & hazelnuts (or extract) in medium saucepan & bring mixture to a boil.

Once boiling, lower heat & let simmer for about 10 mins until mixture has thickened a bit.

Remove from heat. If using nuts, I recommend letting syrup rest for 30 mins to let the hazelnut flavor steep into the syrup more.

If using nuts, strain mixture into heat-proof bowl, leaving hazelnuts behind. If using extract, pour syrup into a heat-proof bowl or mason jar.

Keep mixture in bowl or transfer into mason jar & keep in fridge to cool. Syrup will continue to thicken as it cools.

Place milk, cream, vanilla syrup, & malt powder in mason jar & shake well to combine.

Make Cold Foam

To turn into foam, use an electric frother, hand mixer, or blender. Or you can shake mixture in a mason jar until it's frothy.

Pour cold brew into an ice-filled glass. Stir in hazelnut syrup.

Top drink with chocolate cream cold foam.
