Guinness Doughnuts with Irish Whiskey Frosting

St. Patrick's  Day  Dessert!

Sprinkles, optional

Irish Whiskey Frosting (recipe on next slide)

1/4 cup chocolate milk

2/3 cup Guinness

2 Tbsp melted butter

2 large egg yolks

1 tsp salt

2 tsp baking powder

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 cups all purpose flour

Doughnut Ingredients

1-3 drops green food coloring

4-5 Tbsp Irish Whiskey

1/4 tsp salt

1 1/2 Tbsp butter, softened

2 cups confectioners' sugar

Irish Whiskey Frosting Ingredients

Make Doughnut Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.


Make Doughnut Batter

In a separate smaller bowl, whisk together eggs, melted butter, Guinness, and chocolate milk.

Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined, taking care not to over-mix. – 


Bake Doughnuts

Fill each cavity in doughnut pan lightly sprayed with oil ¾ of the way with batter.


Bake Doughnuts

Bake for 8-10 minutes until donuts are cooked through & light and springy to the touch. Cool completely.


Make Irish Whiskey Frosting

Whisk together confectioners' sugar, butter, salt, & 4 Tbsp whiskey. If too thin, add more whiskey. Mix in food coloring.


Frost  Doughnuts

Once doughnuts are completely cooled, frost with Irish whiskey frosting and add sprinkles, if desired.
