What are Cakesicles?
A cakesicle is like a cake pop, but in the shape of a popsicle. They're made by coating a mold in melted chocolate and letting it harden, pressing in a cake/frosting mixture, adding a popsicle stick, and then covering the back in more melted chocolate.
What You Need:
– Cakesicles Molds – Popsicle Sticks – Cake (boxed, homemade or store-bought) – Frosting (store-bought or homemade) – High-quality chocolate or candy melts – Food coloring – Sprinkles and/or decoration
Once cake has cooled, break it into pieces & place in a bowl. Add frosting.
Using your hands mix everything together until mixture is cohesive.
Melt chocolate or candy melts & use food coloring to get the color of your choice.
Evenly distribute chocolate along bottom & up sidesof mold. Take popsicle stick & insert it into the mold & remove. Chill 5 mins.
Add a second layer of chocolate if desired or add more to sides to strengthen if chocolate looks thin.
Put a little more than 1 Tbsp of cake mixture in mold & press down.
Coat cake with more chocolate to cover backs of cakesicles. Chill 5 mins.
If desired, adhere sprinkles & other decoration with leftover melted chocolate.
For candy corn cakesicles in photos, use 3 batches of chocolate & coat molds with one at a time.
These cakesicles are so cute and will be a hit at any Halloween party!
Don't forget to take a bite & enjoy the delicious cake filling!
