Homemade Pear Sauce

If you love making homemade applesauce in the fall, you need to try Lime Ginger Pear Sauce. It's easy to make & packed with a delicious tropical flavor.

1) Pears (variety of your choice) 2) Water 3) Lime Juice 4) Granulated Sugar 5) Fresh Ginger 6) Salt

Start by peeling and chopping pears

Prep Pears

Place all ingredients in a large saucepan & bring to a boil. Lower heat to simmer & cover. Cook until pears are cooked through & tender.

Make Pear Sauce

Remove from heat & mash pears with potato masher or fork. If you want a completely smooth sauce, put in a blender & puree.

Mash Pear Sauce

Transfer pear sauce to a bowl & refrigerate until cool. Sauce will thicken a bit as it chills.

Chill Pear Sauce

Pear Sauce should keep for about 5 days when refrigerated in an airtight container. Or it can be frozen.
