Starbucks introduced their new pecan drinks in September 2024 and this copycat Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte recipe is the most perfect fall warm-up drink!

What's in a Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte?

The Starbucks Pecan Crunch Latte is made with blonde espresso, pecan syrup, steamed oat milk and froth, & pecan crunch topping.  All the elements of the drink are easy to make at home (with store-bought options, too) & of course, you can customize the hot drink any way you want!

Drink Ingredients:

– Blonde espresso shots – Pecan syrup (homemade or store-bought) – Oat milk (1 cup steamed and 1/4 cup frothed) – Pecan crunch topping (homemade)

Pecan Syrup Ingredients:

– Water – Granulated sugar – Roughly chopped pecans (can substitute with pecan extract) – Salt (only if pecans are unsalted)

Pecan Crunch Topping Ingredients

– Toasted pecans (can toast with syrup nuts or in toaster oven or conventional oven) – Granulated sugar – Salt (only if pecans are unsalted)

In a pot over medium heat, add pecans in a single layer.  Let cook, while stirring  to toast nuts without letting them burn, 3-5 mins.

Add water and sugar to saucepan with nuts & bring mixture to a boil.

Once boiling, lower heat & let simmer for about 10 mins, until mixture has thickened a bit.

Remove from heat & stir in salt if using unsalted nuts. I recommend letting the syrup rest for about 30 mins to let the pecan flavor continue to steep into the syrup.

Strain the mixture into a bowl, leaving the nuts behind (I recommend saving them for snacking or topping ice cream with!).

Keep mixture in bowl or transfer into a mason jar & place in fridge to cool completely. Syrup will continue to thicken as it cools.

Add pecans to a food processor or blender & crush into coarse pieces (you can also put pecans in a small bag & use a mallet or rolling pin to to crush them).

Put crushed pecans in a bowl & mix with sugar. Mix in salt if pecans are unsalted. Store in airtight container at room temperature.

Brew espresso into a heat-proof glass. Stir in pecan syrup.

Steam & froth milk. I recommend steaming 1 cup milk on stovetop/in microwave & frothing ¼ cup milk in an electric frother or with a handheld frother/whisk.

Pour steamed milk into espresso & top off with frothed milk.
