Cuisine: American, Eclectic
Keyword: Chicken Appetizers, Chicken Entrees, Chicken Wings
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour
Makes: 2 -3 servings (as entree)

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne
  • 2 lbs. party wings (wingettes and drumettes), patted dry
  • 3 Tbsp hot sauce (I like Frank's Red Hot)
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • 2 Tbsp scallions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 500 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil sprayed lightly with cooking oil.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Add chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat.
  • Arrange the chicken on the baking sheet in a single layer and spray lightly with vegetable oil. Bake for 45 minutes, turning twice, until browned and crispy.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together hot sauce, butter, soy sauce, honey, and ginger.
  • When the chicken is finished baking, remove from oven and using tongs, dip each wing into the sauce to coat. As you take each wing out of the sauce, arrange it on a platter.
  • Garnish with scallions and serve.
