Tea Steel Cut Oats, Two Ways

Cook your steel cut oats in tea for an extra infusion of flavor that will jumpstart your mornings. From earl grey black tea to tropical green tea with appropriate fruit toppings, your oatmeal will take on whatever flavor you desire.

Ingredients

Amazingly Grey Tea Steel Cut Oats:

  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 2 Lipton Amazingly Grey tea bags
  • ½ cup steel cut oats
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 banana
  • ¼ cup blueberries

Orange Passionfruit Jasmine Tea Steel Cut Oats:

  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 2 Lipton Orange Passionfruit Jasmine tea bags
  • ½ cup steel cut oats
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp honey
  • ½ cup cape gooseberries
  • 2 bunches red currants
  • cup chopped papaya

Instructions

Tea Steel Cut Oats:

  • Bring water to a boil in medium saucepan.
  • Add tea bags to water and let steep for about 3 minutes.
  • Remove tea bags and stir in steel cut oats. Lower heat to a simmer and let cook for about 20 minutes, until water is absorbed and oats are tender.
  • Remove from heat and stir in milk.
  • Divide oats between bowls, drizzle honey over the top, and top with fruit.
