Iced Hazelnut  Oatmilk Shaken Espresso

Starbucks  Copycat Recipe

Winter is all about the nuts at Starbucks & the new Iced Hazelnut Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is so good! It's also so easy to make at home with this copycat recipe!

Makes:  1 drink Prep Time: 20 mins

What's in a Hazelnut Shaken Espresso?

This drink is pretty simple as far as Starbucks drinks go! It's simply made by shaking espresso & hazelnut syrup with ice, pouring into a cup, and then adding oat milk. When you make it at home, you can customize it however you want. I also make my own hazelnut syrup (recipe provided), but you can use store-bought if you prefer.

Drink Ingredients:

– Ice – Blonde espresso (or roast of your choice) – Hazelnut syrup (homemade or store-bought) – Oat milk

Hazelnut Syrup Ingredients:

– Water – Granulated sugar – Roughly chopped roasted hazelnuts (can substitute with hazelnut extract)

Put water, sugar, & hazelnuts (or extract) in medium saucepan & bring mixture to a boil.

Make Syrup

Once boiling, lower heat & let simmer for about 10 mins until mixture has thickened a bit.

Make Syrup

Remove from heat. If using nuts, I recommend letting syrup rest for 30 mins to let the hazelnut flavor steep into the syrup more.

Make Syrup

If using nuts, strain mixture into heat-proof bowl, leaving hazelnuts behind. If using extract, pour syrup into a heat-proof bowl or mason jar.

Make Syrup

Keep mixture in bowl or transfer into mason jar & keep in fridge to cool. Syrup will continue to thicken as it cools.

Make Syrup

Pour espresso & hazelnut syrup into a mason jar or cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Make Drink

Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds until espresso is nice & frothy.

Make Drink

Pour entire contents of shaker (ice included) into a glass.

Make Drink

Top with oat milk.
