Starbucks  Copycat Recipe

Have you tried Starbucks' Iced Toasted Vanilla Oatmilk Shaken Espresso yet? The new spring drink such a delicious iced coffee drink... But it's also so easy to make at home with this copycat recipe!

Makes:  1 Drink Prep Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

What is a Shaken Espresso?

Exactly what it sounds like! Espresso that's vigorously shaken with ice to make it nice & frothy. It's mellowed out with a flavored syrup for sweetness & the dairy of your choice.

Ingredients:

1)  Light Roast Espresso (or strongly brewed coffee) 2) Toasted vanilla syrup (recipe provided) 3) Ice 3) Oat milk (or dairy/non-dairy alternative of your choice)

Syrup Ingredients:

1) Vanilla Bean 2) Water 3) Granulated Sugar

Slice vanilla bean in half lengthwise (so the paste is showing) & into small pieces width-wise.

Make Syrup

Toast vanilla bean in toaster oven or in skillet over medium-low, stirring. It will emit a toasted vanilla fragrance when done.

Make Syrup

Put water & sugar in a saucepan & bring to boil. Lower heat, add toasted vanilla bean pieces, & let simmer for 10 mins until sugar is dissolved & mixture has thickened a bit.

Make Syrup

Pour syrup into a heat-proof bowl or mason jar & let cool. Syrup will thicken as it cools. I recommend keeping vanilla bean pieces in syrup to continue infusing flavor.

Make Syrup

Pour espresso & toasted vanilla syrup into a mason jar or cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Make Drink

Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds until espresso is nice & frothy.

Make Drink

Pour into a glass filled with ice.

Make Drink

Top with oat milk.

Make Drink

Add a straw & enjoy the perfect iced espresso drink just like you'd get at Starbucks!

Enjoy!!
