Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino {Starbucks Copycat}

The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino is a creamy fall coffee drink made with milk, pumpkin spice sauce, espresso, and ice. This copycat version comes together in a blender and tastes just like the one from the coffee shop!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup (2 shots) espresso or strongly brewed coffee cooled
  • 3 tablespoon pumpkin spice sauce (store-bought or with recipe below)
  • ¼ teaspoon xanthan gum (optional for thickening Frappuccino- can substitute with cornstarch, but use a little bit more)
  • ¾ cup ice
  • Pumpkin pie spice for topping

Pumpkin Spice Sauce

  • 1 14-oz can fat-free sweetened condensed milk (use regular if you can't find fat-free)
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Add milk, espresso/coffee, pumpkin pie sauce, xanthan gum (or corn starch), and ice to blender and process until smooth and frothy.
  • Pour Frappuccino into cup and top with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice.

Pumpkin Pie Sauce

  • Put condensed milk in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, along with pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.
  • Stir together and heat for about 5 minutes, until it's just starting to bubble.
  • Remove it from the heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Pour the pumpkin spice sauce into a heat-proof jar or bowl and place in the fridge to cool.

Notes

  • To make the Creme (sans coffee) version of the Frappuccino, replace the ¼ cup espresso with an additional ¼ cup of milk (or half and half for a richer drink).
  • Homemade pumpkin spice sauce should keep fresh for about a week when stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
