Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon for rimming glasses
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 2 oz. ginger simple syrup (recipe below)
  • cup silver (white) tequila
  • 2 oz. apple brandy
  • Chopped apples optional for garnish

Ginger Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sliced ginger

Instructions

  • Place cinnamon on a small plate. Brush water, simple syrup, or honey on the rim of the glasses and roll rims in cinnamon to coat.
  • Fill glasses with ice and then put more ice into a cocktail shaker. Also add 1 cup apple cider, 1 oz. ginger simple syrup, half the tequila, and 1 oz. apple brandy to the shaker and shake well. Pour into a glass and repeat for the second drink.
  • Top margaritas with chopped apples and cinnamon.

Ginger Simple Syrup

  • In a medium sauce pan, bring sugar, water, and ginger to a boil. Once the mixture comes to a boil, lower the heat to a simmer and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Remove mixture from heat, strain ginger out, and pour into a jar or bowl. Let cool.
