Black Cat Frappuccino {Starbucks Copycat}

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 ½ tablespoon chocolate cake powder recipe below
  • 2 tablespoon vanilla syrup store-bought or homemade with recipe linked in notes
  • ¼ teaspoon xanthan powder (optional for thickening Frappuccino- can substitute with cornstarch, but use a little bit more)
  • ¾ cup ice
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Cat sprinkles for topping

Chocolate Cake Powder

  • ½ cup black cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • ½ cup confectioners' sugar
  • ½ teaspoon blue spirulina powder optional for color
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Add milk, chocolate cake powder, vanilla syrup, xanthan gum (or cornstarch), and ice to blender and process until smooth and frothy.
  • Pour Frappuccino into cup and top with whipped cream and cat sprinkles.

Chocolate Cake Powder

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together all the ingredients until evenly combined. If lumps remain, you may need to sift.
  • Store powder in an airtight container (like a mason jar) at room temperature.

Notes

  • For homemade vanilla syrup, use my easy recipe.
  • One batch of chocolate cake powder should be enough for about 5-6 Black Cat Frappuccinos.
  • Chocolate cake powder should stay fresh when stored in an airtight container (like a mason jar) for about 3 months.
