Ingredients
¾cupbrewed English Breakfast tea,chilled
½cupsweetened coconut milk
1 ½teaspoonmatcha powder(sweetened or unsweetened)
1-2tablespoonsimple syrup (I recommend vanilla syrup),optional- see notes
Instructions
Put chilled black tea, coconut milk, matcha power, and 1 tablespoon simple syrup (if using) in an ice-filled shaker. See notes to determine if you should add simple syrup or not. Shake well to combine.
Pour entire contents of shaker (ice included) into a glass.
Taste drink and add more simple syrup if you want a sweeter drink.
Notes
If you're using sweetened matcha powder and sweetened coconut milk, you may not need any simple syrup (unless you like a sweeter drink). I usually make the drink with unsweetened (ceremonial-grade) matcha powder and sweetened coconut milk and still like to add 1 tablespoon syrup.
You can brew multiple servings of tea in advance and keep it in an airtight container in your fridge. When ready to enjoy a Green Drink, simple add ingredients to a shaker.
If you want to make your own vanilla simple syrup, you can use this recipe.
