Ingredients

  • ½ cup lemonade
  • Ice
  • ¼ cup Strawberry Acai Refresher Base (see recipe below)
  • ¼ cup Mango Dragonfruit Refresher Base (see recipe below)
  • Freeze-dried strawberries
  • Freeze-dried dragonfruit

Strawberry Acai Refresher Base

  • 2 ¼ cup white grape juice
  • ½ teaspoon acai powder
  • ½ teaspoon green coffee extract powder (omit if you don't want caffeine in your drink)
  • ¼ teaspoon passionfruit powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (or ½ teaspoon citric acid)
  • ½ teaspoon strawberry extract

Mango Dragonfruit Refresher Base

  • ½ cup dragonfruit syrup (store-bought or recipe below. Make your own if you want a clear syrup)
  • 1 ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup mango nectar (or puree)
  • ¾ teaspoon citric acid (or 1 teaspoon lemon juice)
  • ½ teaspoon green coffee extract powder (omit if you don't want caffeine in your drink)

Dragonfruit Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup white flesh dragonfruit

Instructions

  • Pour lemonade into a glass. Top with lots of ice.
  • Slowly pour both Refresher bases over the ice. Top with freeze-dried fruit inclusions.

Strawberry Acai Refresher Base

  • Pour white grape juice into a medium saucepan and warm over low heat. You don't want to bring to a boil and are just heating so you can dissolve powders more easily.
  • Whisk acai powder, green coffee bean extract powder, and passionfruit powder into the juice until the powders are mostly dissolved (acai powder is tough to fully dissolve, so there will be some granules remaining).
  • Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and strawberry extract. Return to heatproof bowl or pour into large mason jar and put in fridge to cool completely.

Mango Dragonfruit Refresher Base

  • Add dragon fruit syrup, water, mango nectar, citric acid, and green coffee bean powder (if using) to a large jar or container. Shake well to combine and refrigerate until ready to use.

Dragonfruit Syrup

  • Put water, sugar, and diced dragon fruit in a medium-size saucepan and bring mixture to a boil.
  • Once boiling, lower heat and let simmer for about 15 minutes, until mixture has thickened a bit and dragon fruit is softening.
  • Strain mixture into a bowl, being sure to press down on the dragon fruit to extract as much juice as possible.
  • Keep syrup in bowl or pour into a mason jar and place in fridge to cool completely before using. Syrup will continue to thicken as it cools.

Notes

  • This recipe for Strawberry Acai Base makes enough for about 8 full Cannon Ball Drinks if using ¼ cup per drink.
  • The base recipe makes enough for about 8 full drinks if using ¼ cup of base per drink.
  • The bases can keep fresh in your fridge for about 2 weeks.
  • If you don't want caffeine in your drink, you can leave out the green coffee extract as it doesn't change the flavor. Or you can add more for more caffeine.
  • The recipe above is for clear dragonfruit syrup. If you want the syrup to be pink, you can use dragonfruit powder. See full dragonfruit syrup recipe for more ideas.
