I love when
Though Blackpink is a South Korean girl group, their music is also hugely popular in North America. In fact, they're often referred to as the "biggest girl group in the world." Even if you're not a super fan, there's a high chance you've heard their songs Kill This Love, Pink Venom, and more.
So, lots of us were excited when
Luckily, the drink is easy to make at home and with this copycat Blackpink Frappuccino recipe, you can enjoy the fun and tasty drink any time you want!
🖤 What is the Blackpink Frappuccino?
The Blackpink Frappuccino is a Strawberry Crème Frappuccino that's made with oat milk instead of the typical dairy-milk. It has a layer of mocha sauce on the bottom of the cup and is topped with strawberry whipped cream and chocolate candy.
The official version has a fun black and pink heart-shaped chocolate on top.
❤️ Why you'll love this recipe
This frozen drink is a fun one to make if you're a Blackpink fan. But it's also perfect for anyone who loves the combination of strawberry and chocolate (and who doesn't?) and anyone looking for a dairy-free Frappuccino.
The Blackpink Frappuccino is also so easy to make! I make each element of the drink from scratch, but you also have options for purchasing if you prefer.
🗒 Ingredients
The Frappuccino has a few different elements and I'll list what you need for each of them, along with store-bought options you can purchase instead. So, please don't be overwhelmed by all the elements of the drink as most don't need to be made from scratch!
Here's everything you need (be sure to view the recipe card at the bottom of this post for ingredient amounts and full recipe instructions):
- Mocha sauce: I like to make my own and provide my recipe in this post, but you can also purchase a bottle of mocha sauce. You can even purchase Starbucks mocha sauce if you want (it's typically pricier than most other mochas, though)!
- Oat milk
- Strawberry puree: I include my homemade strawberry puree recipe here, but you can also purchase store-bought strawberry puree.
- Simple syrup: I always have a jar of homemade simple syrup in my fridge and will include my recipe, but if you don't want to make it, I highly recommend always having a bottle of basic simple syrup on hand.
- Xanthan gum: this helps thicken the Frappuccino. If you can't find it, you can substitute with cornstarch, but you'll need to use a little bit more.
- Ice
- Strawberry whipped cream: I include my recipe, but you can also use a can of regular whipped cream and drizzle some strawberry puree over it. Or you might even be able to find strawberry whipped cream you can purchase!
- Mini chocolate chips: for topping the Frappuccino. You can also use chocolate shavings if you prefer.
If you're making your own mocha sauce, you'll need:
- Granulated sugar
- Cocoa powder
- Water
- Salt
If you're making your own strawberry puree, you'll need:
- Strawberries
- Granulated sugar
- Water
If you're making your own simple syrup, you'll need:
- Water
- Granulated sugar
If you're making the strawberry whipped cream, you'll need:
- Heavy cream
- Strawberry puree
- Simple Syrup (you can use vanilla simple syrup if you prefer and omit the vanilla extract)
- Vanilla extract
If you're planning to make elements from scratch, I show you how in the sections below. If you're buying everything, you can skip directly to the How to make the Blackpink Frappuccino section.
🍫 How to make mocha sauce
If you're making your own mocha sauce, it's super simple!
Just put all the ingredients (sugar, water, cocoa powder, and salt) in a saucepan and whisk together.
Bring the mixture to a boil and once boiling, lower heat to a simmer.
Let simmer for about 15 minutes to thicken.
Pour the syrup into a heat-proof bowl or jar and place in fridge to cool completely. It should continue to thicken as it cools.
As long as you keep the mocha sauce in an airtight container in your fridge, it should keep fresh for about 2 weeks.
🍓 How to make strawberry puree
Homemade strawberry puree is also ridiculously easy to make!
Just put all the ingredients (strawberries, sugar, and water) in a blender and process until smooth.
Pour puree into a bowl or glass. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
It should keep fresh for about 3-5 days.
🍬 How to make homemade simple syrup
Simple syrup is one of my favorite things to make (I have so many flavored simple syrup recipes!) and it couldn't be easier.
Simply, add water and sugar to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, until the sugar is completely dissolved and the syrup has thickened a bit.
Remove saucepan from heat and pour syrup into a heat-proof bowl or mason jar. Place bowl or jar in fridge to cool completely before using.
🥛 How to make strawberry whipped cream
Whew, one more step if you're making everything from scratch.
Again, you can totally use regular whipped cream for this- we're just adding a little bit of strawberry flavor and a light pink tinge with some strawberry puree.
If you want the whipped cream to be dairy-free, you can substitute the heavy cream with coconut cream or full-fat coconut milk.
Otherwise, in the bowl of a stand mixer with whisk attachment or in a medium bowl with a hand mixer, Add the heavy cream, strawberry puree, and simple syrup to a bowl of a stand mixer with whisk attachment or to a medium bowl with a hand mixer.
Beat on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, about 4-5 minutes.
If you want your strawberry whipped cream to be even pinker, you can add more puree or you can add a drop of pink or red food coloring.
If not using immediately, store the whipped cream in fridge.
🧋 How to make the Blackpink Frappuccino
OK, you officially have all the Frappuccino elements ready to go! Let's whip up this Blackpink Frappuccino.
To start, add mocha sauce into the bottom of a glass or cup.
In a blender, add oat milk, strawberry puree, simple syrup, xanthan gum, and ice.
Process until smooth and frothy.
Pour the Frappuccino mixture over mocha sauce.
And top the whole thing off with strawberry whipped cream.
When I make homemade whipped cream, I like to pipe it on drinks with a pastry bag (fitted with a Wilton 1M tip) to give it the swirly look.
And top the whipped cream with mini chocolate chips.
I mean, is this pink venom or what??
But in all serious, this Blackpink Frappuccino is absolutely and ridiculously delicious. It's packed with strawberry and chocolate flavor, but the oat milk also adds a little nuttiness to the drink.

Here are some ideas for how to customize the perfect drink for you!
- If you aren't concerned with making the drink dairy-free, you can substitute the oat milk with whole milk... Or you can use the dairy or non-dairy alternative of your choice.
- Drizzle additional strawberry puree over the top of the drink.
- In addition to the chocolate mocha sauce, consider mixing in some white mocha sauce, too.
- Incorporate a mocha sauce swirl into the actual Frappuccino instead of just adding it to the bottom of the cup.
- Add protein powder to the Frappuccino mixture for an extra boost. Vanilla or strawberry flavored powder would be delicious.
- Use coconut cream or full-fat coconut milk to make the whipped cream dairy-free, too.
- Top the whipped cream with chocolate shavings or a Dove chocolate heart instead of chocolate chips.
