Happy 4th of July! Do you have any plans for the weekend? I assume most of us will be keeping it pretty low-key this year with smaller family gatherings and lots of time spent outside. And hopefully some delicious food, as well!
If you've been reading here for some time, you know I absolutely love cooking and baking and mixing up cocktails for family and friends. But there are definitely times when I like to keep things low-key and low-stress. Which means serving prepared foods and simple-to-make eats.
I'm excited to be working with Shaw's Supermarket on this blog post to showcase some of the delicious prepared foods you can purchase in-store. Summer entertaining just got a whole lot easier!
I shopped at Shaw’s Supermarket in my local area (New England), but you can also find quality summer meal solutions at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Randalls, Star Market, Tom Thumb and Vons.
I could wander around Shaw's all day (my local store is huge!) and I love checking out, not only the food and groceries, but also all of their seasonal products.
Not to mention, the convenient meal solutions that make entertaining a bit easier. I'm all about letting Shaw's do the hard work while I sit back, relax and eat, while hanging out with my family and friends.
Some of those items include the best fried chicken, whole roasted chicken, prepared deli salads, pies, chocolate chip cookies, and fresh cut produce.
I put together a spread with their whole roasted chicken and potato salad...
Fresh cut fruit (I got berries and pineapple, but their selection is HUGE!)...
And cherry pie and chocolate chip cookies.
I love making homemade pies, but between the crust and pitting all the cherries, they are a ton of work and take a lot of time. So, I was thrilled they had a selection of them in the Shaw's bakery (also apple).
Whether you're having guests over, attending a celebratory gathering, or are just sitting at home with your family, this selection of made in-store, grab and go deli, produce and bakery offerings are perfect.
My whole spread was pretty fabulous!
I'm pretty sure I ate all of that pineapple by myself in one sitting. I buy a pineapple almost every week, but this was by far the juiciest, sweetest pineapple I've had... And I didn't have to cut it myself!
To go along with the spread, I decided to make a quick and simple dessert dip because I knew it would go perfectly with the cookies and fruit.
❤️ Why you'll love this recipe
This easy cinnamon dip is perfect for so many occasions and will help you add a homemade touch to any party or gathering. It's also perfect for whipping up on a weekday afternoon for an after school snack or yummy dessert.
The dessert dip is incredible easy to make with just three ingredients! It can be served with all sorts of dippers from healthy fruit to indulgent cookies.

👩🍳 How to make cinnamon dip
Ready for this ridiculously easy recipe?
All you have to do is put all three ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
Put the dip in a bowl and top with a sprinkling of cinnamon.
I told you it was easy!!
🥣 How to serve
If you can resist eating this cinnamon dip straight out of the bowl with a spoon, I highly recommend serving it with an array of dippers. Here are some ideas:
- Fresh cut fruit: berries, pineapple, apples, bananas, and mango all make great options
- Cookies: I love dipping fresh baked chocolate chip cookies into the cinnamon dip
- Nilla Wafers or animal crackers: Serve with smaller snack-like cookies
- Pita chips: Plain or cinnamon sugar flavored
- Pretzels
- Cheese: It may sound a bit odd, but it's so good
Make up a little dessert charcuterie board of dippers and you have the best backyard cookout dessert spread EVER.
Which took you less than 5 minutes to put together.
⏲️ How to store
Since the base of this dip is cottage cheese, it should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge. It should stay fresh for 3-5 days when stored properly.
If storing in the fridge, I recommend giving it a good store and sprinkling with more ground cinnamon before serving.
