Summer entertaining doesn't have to be stressful! With this easy Cinnamon Dessert Dip and a delicious selection of prepared foods, outdoor summer eating is incredibly easy.
Happy 4th of July! Do you have any plans for the weekend? I assume most of us will be keeping it pretty low-key this year with smaller family gatherings and lots of time spent outside. And hopefully some delicious food, as well!
If you've been reading here for some time, you know I absolutely love cooking and baking and mixing up cocktails for family and friends. But there are definitely times when I like to keep things low-key and low-stress. Which means serving prepared foods and simple-to-make eats.
I'm excited to be working with Shaw's Supermarket on this blog post to showcase some of the delicious prepared foods you can purchase in-store. Summer entertaining just got a whole lot easier!
I shopped at Shaw’s Supermarket in my local area (New England), but you can also find quality summer meal solutions at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Randalls, Star Market, Tom Thumb and Vons.
Strange as it seems, I've been seriously missing wandering around the grocery store. For me, ordering groceries online just isn't the same. But if you prefer to stay home, Shaw's also offers Grocery Delivery and DriveUp & Go™ for convenient ways to shop!
I could wander around Shaw's all day (my local store is huge!) and I love checking out, not only the food and groceries, but also all of their seasonal products.
Not to mention, the convenient meal solutions that make entertaining a bit easier. I'm all about letting Shaw's do the hard work while I sit back, relax and eat, while hanging out with my family and friends.
Some of those items include the best fried chicken, whole roasted chicken, prepared deli salads, pies, chocolate chip cookies, and fresh cut produce.
I put together a spread with their whole roasted chicken and potato salad...
Fresh cut fruit (I got berries and pineapple, but their selection is HUGE!)...
And cherry pie and chocolate chip cookies.
I love making homemade pies, but between the crust and pitting all the cherries, they are a ton of work and take a lot of time. So, I was thrilled they had a selection of them in the Shaw's bakery (also apple).
Whether you're having guests over, attending a celebratory gathering, or are just sitting at home with your family, this selection of made in-store, grab and go deli, produce and bakery offerings are perfect.
My whole spread was pretty fabulous!
I'm pretty sure I ate all of that pineapple by myself in one sitting. I buy a pineapple almost every week, but this was by far the juiciest, sweetest pineapple I've had... And I didn't have to cut it myself!
Easy Cinnamon Dessert Dip Recipe
To go along with the spread, I decided to make a quick and simple dessert dip because I knew it would go perfectly with the cookies and fruit.
This dessert dip is just THREE ingredients:
- Cottage cheese
- Maple syrup
- Cinnamon
Put all three ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Put the dip in a bowl and top with a sprinkling of cinnamon.
I told you it was easy!!
Serve the cinnamon dessert dip with fresh cut fruit and cookies and you have the best backyard cookout dessert spread EVER.
Which took you less than 5 minutes to put together.
I don't think it gets any better than cookies and dessert dip in the sun... Especially after indulging in delicious roasted chicken and potato salad.
