Who else has a bag of candy corn in the pantry and no idea what to do with it besides eat it by the handful?
I'm firmly on team candy corn (and so is Chris), so I've been finding new ways to use it every fall since I started developing recipes way back in 2008.
Some of these recipes melt it right down into drinks and syrups, some turn it into sweet treats, and some just mix it with salty snacks so even candy corn skeptics keep coming back for more.
And if you're just not a fan of the taste? A few of these recipes only look like candy corn. The cupcakes are vanilla with a marshmallow filling, and the donuts and milkshake both have easy vanilla versions, so you get the festive colors without the candy corn flavor.
I've rounded all of my candy corn recipes up here, sorted into drinks, desserts, and snacks, so you can find the right one for your Halloween party, movie night, or that bag sitting in your pantry.
🍸 Candy corn drinks and cocktails
You may not expect it, but candy corn melts beautifully into liquid, which means it's surprisingly easy to turn into drinks. These fun drinks range from boozy to totally kid-friendly.
Candy Corn Martini

Vodka soaks with candy corn for 3 hours and turns the brightest Halloween orange you've ever seen. Shake it with a splash of butterscotch schnapps for a sweet Halloween martini that tastes just like the candy. The post also covers how to batch it for a party.
Candy Corn Cocktail

This drink is basically a vodka soda with homemade candy corn syrup mixed in. It takes about 5 minutes once the syrup is made and leaving out the vodka gives you a candy corn soda for the kids.
Candy Corn Hot Chocolate

Just two ingredients: milk and candy corn. The candy dissolves right into the warm milk for a pale orange drink that tastes like liquid candy corn. (there's technically no chocolate in the drink!) There's also a cocoa version in the post if you want it.
Candy Corn Milkshake

Yellow, orange, and white layers make this milkshake look exactly like a piece of candy corn. No actual candy corn goes in, but butter extract and vanilla give it the flavor and you can easily skip the butter extract for a plain vanilla shake.
Candy Corn Syrup

Simmer water and candy corn for about 10 minutes and you're left with a syrup that tastes exactly like candy corn. Stir it into cocktails, coffee, sparkling water, or drizzle it over ice cream and pancakes.
🍬 Candy corn desserts
These candy corn desserts are the showstoppers for a Halloween party, whether the candy is baked in, melted in, or just the inspiration for the colors.
Candy Corn Fudge

Three no-bake layers of white chocolate fudge in yellow, orange, and white, topped with whole candy corn so every square looks like a piece of the candy. The butter extract adds a candy corn flavor, but you can leave it out for just vanilla and white chocolate.
Candy Corn Ice Cream

This recipe has just 3 ingredients: heavy cream, whole milk, and candy corn. The candy melts into the cream for a vibrant orange ice cream and then more chopped candy corn gets folded in at the end. You'll need an ice cream maker for this one, but it's worth it.
Candy Corn Toffee

Homemade buttery toffee topped with semisweet chocolate, a white chocolate swirl, candy corn, and sprinkles. Break the candy corn toffee into pieces for a party platter or pack it into treat bags.

Candy Corn Donuts

Baked (not fried!) donuts with swirled yellow and orange batter, a candy corn icing, and lots of sprinkles. No actual candy corn goes into these candy corn donuts; butter extract and vanilla give them the flavor. Skip the butter extract for vanilla donuts.
Candy Corn Cupcakes

This is the one for candy corn haters! Two-toned vanilla cupcakes get a marshmallow cream filling and a swirled orange, yellow, and white buttercream. They look like candy corn cupcakes but don't taste like the candy at all.
Halloween Cakesicles

These cake pops are shaped like popsicles with a candy corn colored shell layered yellow, orange, and white. Candy corn popsicles are much easier than cake pops and a fun one to make with kids.
🍿 Candy Corn Snacks
Sweet and salty mixtures are where candy corn really shines. These are the easy recipes for movie night, party bowls, and Halloween treat bags.
Candy Corn and Peanuts

This candy corn and peanuts recipe involves 2 ingredients, one bowl, about 2 minutes. Salty peanuts balance out the sweet candy corn so well that it's been known to convert a few candy corn skeptics.
Halloween Trail Mix

Vanilla Life cereal, mini pretzels, frosted animal crackers, peanuts, Halloween M&Ms, and candy corn are all tossed in one bowl for this Halloween trail mix. It's the perfect spooky movie snack and a fun way to enjoy candy corn.
Halloween Party Popcorn

This delicious Halloween popcorn is coated in white chocolate and tossed with crumbled Halloween Oreos, candy corn, and sprinkles. It's my go-to for bringing to a Halloween party.
Candy Corn Granola Bars

These no-bake granola bars are made with oats, Rice Krispies, pumpkin seeds, and chopped candy corn and are held together with a honey and brown sugar mixture. Yes, this means candy corn for breakfast!
Halloween Cookie Dough

Edible vanilla cookie dough is loaded with Halloween M&Ms, candy corn, and peanut butter chips. Add candy eyes on top for a fun spooky season cookie dough party treat.
Halloween Charcuterie Board

One of my favorite ideas for entertaining in the fall: the Halloween charcuterie board! Of course, no matter what you decide to include on your board (jalapeño mummies, guacamole spiderwebs, etc.) you have to include candy corn.
🥣 Tips for cooking and baking with candy corn
- It melts easily into warm liquid: that's what makes the hot chocolate, ice cream, and simple syrup so simple. Keep the heat gentle and stir often so it doesn't stick to the pan.
- It won't float in liquid: candy corn sinks in drinks, so stick it to the side of the glass or put a few in the bottom for a fun surprise.
- Skewering is tricky, too: candy corn tends to crack when you poke it. I ended up gluing mine to cocktail skewers for the photos where you see skewers.
- Gel food coloring gives the best layers for coloring: for anything tri-colored, gel coloring gets you bright yellow and orange without watering anything down.
- Always store treats in airtight containers: candy corn picks up moisture easily, so keep anything topped with it in an airtight container.
Much to my dismay (and I'm sure the joy of others!), candy corn season is short, so I like to make the most of it while it's here.
Whether you're a die-hard fan, you only like it mixed with peanuts, or you just like the pretty color scheme, I hope you find a new favorite in this list.
If you make any of these, I'd love to hear which one you tried. Please comment below!
